Rubine Hob
Today I am on Sick Leave. Since taking on the supervisory role a year ago, my health has been deteriorating. I am constantly unwell but I brace myself and still go to work. You'll be surprised, this is my very first Sick Leave of the year and we about the end of the year already.
So my Rubine Hob was installed last year when I changed the kitchen cabinet. I actually bought that hob and hood as part of the package.
After almost a year, I noticed that the burner (smaller one has turn color). The problem was the black coating has become powdery and coming off when you wipe it and you can now see the golden color base. The golden color base which I suspect its copper.
So I decided to call the customer service but the lady who picked up the call was so unhelpful. just gave me the technician no. As you know, most of the technician speak Chinese and my Chinese is horrid. So the lady assured me that he can speak English.
So i call the technician.
Here's my conversation
Me: Hello so and so?
Tech: Yes.
Me: Cust. Serv. gave me your number to call and ask. My burner only after 1 year use now the black color coating came out. Is that normal ( there i am trying to use very basic English and speaking slowly. I usually speak very fast!)
Tech: Where you stay?
Me: at around XXXXXX
Tech: If the board no problem then ok one. Lei Hai Thong yan rite (You are chinese rite)
Me: Ya but hokkien lang.
Tech : Speaking in Canto - ( i translate what i understood here). If you board ok, no black2 then ok. No problem. (he actually used the word "board" even while speaking in canto)
Me: What if later i want to replace
Tech: No need, after long long use, the color still change one. you board behind no black2 is ok. Fire ok, no problem
Me: Oh ok. so spoilt only change?
Tech: Ya!
After I hung up i was still trying to figure out what is board.
After I kept thinking about it for awhile then it strike me. HE MEANT POT!!!!! not BOARD!!!!
ALAMAK~~~~

When Life of another seems more interesting than yours
Interfaced has changed as well.
As what the title says, I wonder tho' when you read other people's blog, facebook posts, pictures they post in Facebook, they always seems to have much more interesting life than yours.
Are these for real? Are they really these chirpy all the time or is this just a front to show people that they are happy. But deep down inside they are as miserable as everyone else - once a while?
Since I hit the big XO, X denoting a number which I am not ready to tell the world. I have been down in the pits again. People tell me life begins at this age? really tho? If i were to tell people my age they probably run like gazillion miles away.
The thing is, only if I tell. Coz from my looks, you can't tell. I don't look a day older than I am in my 20s.
So the question would be, what people put out there on the internet, is it the truth? or just a facade?

The day came and went...
Nothing eventful happened.
Had about 3 greetings sent to me via phone and my mom was the first to wish me.
Since I do not push my birth date on FB. Only about 2-3 people who knew wished me via FB
So it came and went, nothing happened, it was just an ordinary day. With the exception that I am a year older.....

Had the feeling
Today was FT day, so I am not working. Was thinking of going for the 6.30am mass but couldn't wake up.
Decided to surf the web to find out if there is any mass at Assumption Church. Right enough the bulletin shows that there is one at 6pm. Sms'ed my friend but she said according to the bulletin, there is no mass (as in the hard copy of the bulletin).
Oh Well, decided to check SFX instead and lo and behold, there is on at 6.15pm. I just had this feeling there was a message for me and I needed to attend Mass to find out what the message was.
The priest spoke about Lack of Faith. How David after winning battles and gaining a big kingdom ,decided to do a census to find out how big an army he would have and how much taxes he could gain. And God punished him. Why?? coz David decided to rely on himself, his own power, instead of like before where he relied on God's providence.
The msg is, that we need to learn and to submit to God and have faith. Also the other section of the homily was that sometimes we treat Jesus like our servant or like a child. We ask him to give us what we want and if not, we will love him anymore or we punish him for not giving us what we want.
:( - true??
for me, i need to pray that will be able to submit to God and trust in him. I am guilty of having lack of faith for sure. So that was God's msg for me today. Thank You Lord, Amen.

Good Bye
15 years has gone by and she has been a friend. It was sad saying good bye to her. I said bye and added see you as I walked out the door.
I felt sad when i walked out the door. I saw that she was too.I have been visiting her every month since 1997. I still remember the first day I met her. All I can do now is hold on to the memories and cherish them.
Happy Retirement Connie!
another chapter of my life closes.

Shutting off for 6 days
Since we have a long holiday around, I decided to switch off the data access on my Black Berry. I actually didn't know how to do it but .... when my battery was dying at work last week, someone showed me how.
that prompted me to actually shut that off for the whole 6 days..... I still feel the anxiety and fear of like missing some important email or like I had sent out a scary email on friday before I left work, now anticipating that i will be receiving a nasty reply. Aii... fear and anxiety....
But so far I am doing ok.. or trying to be ok.
this is a huge step for me. Pray everything will be ok when i switch back to work mode in 2 days time.

Life is Short!
At around 8.30pm after dinner, I went up to my room and i saw a SMS. It was from my friend whom I was suppose to go to HK with end of AUG.
A trip which both of us were so looking forward to. Then i read the SMS, it states, "Sorry mystic, I can't go with you to HK anymore. My mom passed away in a accident on 27th July 2011. "
I was shocked, as I have travelled with her mom to Bali in year 2009 and few years before that to Langkawi.
I do know that they just got back from UK/Scotland like in June. This was a real shocker to me.
And here I am still worried daily over work over what will happen. Anxiety all the time.
Sigh...
Life is truly damn short.

Tentative Plans
So for me, I make up what I want to do along the way. And if it doesn't get fulfilled, It will just be pushed to the next year, etc ,etc. Sounds like procrastinating rite? To me it isn't so. As I age, i also realized that I don't want to pressure myself too much. Eventhough, I can't get rid of my worry wart type habit but I noticed I am slightly better. Not like much much better but the slight change, even I notice is one big change to me.... I mean come on!! I noticed it people!!!!
Here's my tentative plan for the rest of the year.
- Visiting HK - again in Aug - taking one day off for the long public holiday stretch.
- Visiting Italia in Oct - tickets purchased. Itinerary still in the works. Kind of nervous, as this time I am planning the routes while the person I am traveling with is checking out accommodation. I wish I have given her the bigger task. But she volunteered first.
- Home Improvement. -I have been living in my current place for about 7 years now. Imagine that. I still remember day 1 i moved, also that year I lost my late sister in law. So it was such a turbulent time for me. I still remember ringgit telling me to make all the reno before moving in or else will have a hard time once you're already staying there. It's not like I don't want to heed his advise but during that time money was a big constraint for me. Big O wasn't paying me much and I was already digging into the little savings which I had. But 7 years now, I am ready to make that home improvement. I am not looking into big huge changes just looking more into redoing the kitchen cabinet, get the built-in hob, hood and oven. Hood might be a problem cos i live in an apartment. Will have to see. These days, I have been busy Google here and there as I don't have any sort of experience and I can't bother my parents either as my mom is just way to bz taking care of the home and also my nieces and nephews.

Matta announces travel agent will charge consultation fee - WHAT???!!!
MATTA announces that travel agents will charge a consultation fee
By PRIYA MENON
KUALA LUMPUR: Beginning January 2011, travel agencies all over Malaysia will begin charging a consultation fee for producing the best personalised service for their clients.
The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) announced this at Wisma MATTA in Desa Perdana to reporters.
According to MATTA president Datuk Mohd Khalid Harun, the fee had been successfully implemented in other countries that had increased the level of service and quality.
“Over the years, airline commissions have declined, hotel’s internet booking have increased but we are still rendering free services to those who ask for quotations or tour packages even before they confirm their purchase with us,” he said.
Deputy president, John Tan, added that a lot of work was involved in compiling the quotation and the work could not be done for free anymore.
“Some corporate clients ask several companies for quotations because it is free and, at the end, only one receives the deal. This is not fair to us. So with this fee they will think twice before doing this. We are educating them,” he added.
Tan said all clients should decide on the destination, do a little groundwork and decide on their budget so a win-win situation could be found for both parties.
Khalid added that travel agents were now consultants with their expertise and strengths.
This fee structure has been configured by their Outbound committee.
The fee suggested by MATTA is merely a guideline and travel agents are free to change the price according to their service.
For frequent individual travelers, the charge is RM300 per quotation for both domestic and international travel, while corporate consultation fees are priced at RM200 per quotation for the first three quotations and RM500 per quotation for the fourth quotation onwards for both domestic and international travels.
“The fee will be absorbed as part of the payment if the client decides to purchase from the agency and one free revision will be given on the same quotation,” added Jeffri Sulaiman, vice president of MATTA Outbound.
Jeffri also said they would begin road shows around the country to disseminate the information to all their 2700 registered members.
Khalid added that if customers felt that they were unhappy with the services or the charges they were welcome to lodge complaints with MATTA.

Bracing for the new week ahead.
how can dissociates life from work? Is it possible in this 20th century. When life in actual fact does revolves around work?
You work 8 hours or more in the office then you come home and you still have to work due to having to attend nite conferences, etc.
Then again, you wonder, can you make do without work? Then the next question is, how long can your body stand starvation? not just your body but the other human beings other there whom the world states as your family - how long can they withstand hunger and deprivation.
I have no answers to these stuff... I wish I knew.
When I speak to God, i can't really hear him. Or maybe I am so caught up with my worries that I don't hear him nor see the signs. I have no clue....
Some people tell me, I will never know what God's plans are for me.... then how lah to prepare?
AIII.. catch 22.. catch 22...

Could God be Wrong?
So could God ever be wrong?
Why do i ask this question? As we know, we have reading a lot about same gender relationship and how it has been deemed by society as nothing wrong.
Not only same gender relationship but someone born of one gender but decided that he/she is leaning more towards being the "other" gender.
So could God be wrong?? When he is suppose to be prefect?
I don' think God can be wrong, but something must have happened along the way. And only God knows.

Big spender - BBW Sale.
Last year when I went for the sales @ Amcorp Mall, I promised myself that I would take leave this year to go on the very first day. But that decision wasn't seen thru, due to some family issues which have had caused me to take leave earlier in OCT.
I went on the second day for the sales. I am impressed. Eventho the venue was kind of far and in like a unknown area, it was big and great and there were many2 more books compared to the previous year.
I spent around 300+ ringgit and on the avg the books were about 8 ringgit for novels and hard cover books like recipe books and cross stitch books like RM15.
Total worth the time.
But one regret I have, I should have taken that 1 day leave to go on the first day. i would gotten much better titles and the books which i really really wanted.
SO NEXT YEAR, I WILL take that one day leave and go on the first day.
I LOVE BOOKS SO MUCH. I have a hobby afterall... someone told me in a training recently, you will die young if you do not have a hobby... how discouraging.
That is why, IF YOU HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY, JUST SHUT THE HELL UP!

iphone
I was considering to get an iphone but am not able to yet. This is because I am on this family plan that my brother had signed up. Before he left the country, in June, we did go to maxis to find out about transferring the primary person from him to myself. Unfortunately, the cost of transfer is just way too high cause we have a commitment until Jan 2011. If we were to get off the plan now, there will be penalty.
So i am stuck with the current plan where whether we spend XXX amount or not, we still need to pay XXX amount. All because he wanted to get 2 free phones. now we are stuck. And with him gone abroad indefinitely, we are stuck even further.
i am waiting for the time when he does come back for vacation and I will definitely want to get us out of this stupid plan.
at that time, i will consider getting an iphone. But from the packages which maxis offers I would seem that its RM88 per month for the data package. DG is much lower but then again DG isn't Maxis huh...
We will have to see how things goes. Its too premature to decide on this now, since I don't even know when my bro will be visiting....

Dealing With Grief
About 6 years ago, I lost a family member to lupus. At that time, it wasn't easy for me to move on or get over the sadness in a short time.
this time, it was my grandmother's passing and for someone who has been with me all my life, it was even harder than ever.
During the 1-2 day I could still contain and only totally let loose crying when the last hymn was sung and the reality hits that I will never ever be able to see or hear this person talk anymore. Or have a conversation.
But that didn't stop, everyday after that, I would just burst into tears each time I think of her, or see something that reminds me of her. Her smile,, the questions on whether have I eaten, when will i be going back to my apt, when will be coming back. Brings me to tears each time.
I could no longer have the conversations I have with her when I am ironing clothes in her room. Where she would strike conversations like, " Not going out with your friends today?" to which I would almost always answer, " no friends lah ah ma how?" then she would say, " I will pray for you don't worry" I miss her so much and its so hard to let go.
I know its time for her to go after not being well and being 90 and all but IT DOESN'T MAKE IT ANY EASIER.
I am crying like a running tap at the moment while typing this.
Ah Ma I miss you but I know you're in a better place. Rest in Peace and we will meet again at that beautiful shore.....

Rest in Peace Ah Ma
I am glad that she is no longer suffering. But we will all miss her.

Being a Zombie and JetLag
After being 2 weeks in Houston, I was so ready to come home. do I miss it there? Not really. But one thing tho' that irks me is the political scene. Its just all pure BS. That one thing I like about the US and miss, at least their political scene is not as comical as they are over here.
I also miss the shopping but then again i don't earn in USD. I wish i was, then I could shop till i drop. I will blog more about my trip soon enough. Yeah yeah i know I always say that.
The only thing on my mind these days is I am turning 3X another year older and closer to another age group. The fear has been relentless. I wonder tho' whether I should just accept the fact that I will never be able to have a family of my own or have children of my own ever and then just move on in life. Its a sad fact but all possibilities are leading this way. To tell you the truth, I never imaged my life would ever be this way. EVER!
I guess in a way I do feel like a loser in life.

Ways to work it out
then yesterday, my colleague cooked for us bei ji chicken, and he is a guy and of a diff race sommore but he so much more domesticated then the 3 girls he invited over to his place.
So in order to reduce some of the anxiety of going to work tomorrow, I shall be working later today ( in the afternoon) to clear at least my logs so that next week I can concentrate on more important things.
I have to say my sleepless nites are back to haunt me. I don't know if its the job, its me, or whatever.
But i do hope i will find a light at the end of the tunnel real soon. Coz this sleepless nites thingy is definitely going to elevate my BP .....

Anxiety Amounting
I am so scared of the huge amount of logs which I have to start reviewing and also not to mention my team member who kept calling me when I was vacation. I have to prep for Tuesdays which I filled with meeting from morning until afternoon.
I think I need a focus outside of work. And not let work be the only thing in my life. Maybe have a personal Goal??? You think?
Pray pray for me.. I can feel the palpitation of the heart going faster and faster.

I was at home at the hall while my little niece was watching the channel nickelodeon - Phineas and Ferb. There is this other character in the show call ISABELLA (and my niece is called Isabel). Isabella kept saying this when she meets people " What chu doing" What chu doing" hahahahaha
This morning that's whats been playing on my mind and I kept repeating it over and over again verbally too. So CUTE!!!!
WHAT CHU DOING?! ( with a sing song tune)
Does Internet Makes you Depress?
I was searching high and low for this article to share with you guys. Finally I found it.
I just wanted to say that, I find some of the facts true. I use to think why everyone else has such nice and dandy life especially when you start reading their blogs. Their lives seems to be so fulfilling esp those living abroad while your life here just feels rotten :) .
Keep an open mind, read this , I think there might be some truth in some of the points stated.

Yes, the internet DOES make you depressed (and I've seen it happen to far too many clever women)
By Dr Pam Spurr
Last updated at 1:36 AM on 12th February 2010
Anybody meeting my client Anna for the first time would be forgiven for thinking she has a perfect life. She is 29, slim, attractive, well-educated and rapidly climbing the career ladder as a solicitor with a dynamic City firm.
Yet her whole demeanour is nothing more than a well-constructed facade.
Rather than spending her evenings at the latest fashionable restaurant or gossiping over cocktails at a trendy wine bar, Anna instead spends up to five hours a night on her laptop - obsessively tracking the lives of her ex-boyfriend, old friends and acquaintances and work colleagues.
Many people are attracted to leading a second 'life' on the internet
When she isn't glued to Facebook, Friends Reunited or blogs, she is trawling through gossip websites.
At weekends, when Anna has more time on her hands, it's not unusual for her to devote seven-hour sessions to her voyeuristic monitoring of people she is convinced are all leading more exciting and fulfilling lives than she is.
So, when I saw the Daily Mail report last week on new research linking addictive internet use with depression, I wasn't in the least bit surprised.
The study found that spending too long online can expose a 'dark side'. Those who didn't previously suffer from depression were made to feel gloomy and vulnerable, and those who did often logged off feeling worse.
Sadly, it confirmed a growing trend I've witnessed first-hand over the past ten years in my work as a life coach and agony aunt.
Because, in line with this research from the University of Leeds, I too have discovered that people slip into the murky realms of 'chasing' after a life - of sorts - by surfing the internet for longer and longer periods until it dominates their moods, behaviour and life.
There appears to be a direct relationship between spending more time online and feeling less happy about life, as well as an increased risk of addiction to the internet.
Let's be honest, though, when most of us think of the stereotypical sad and lonely person who gets addicted to surfing the net, we think of a geeky man who probably doesn't have refined social skills or a high 'desirability' rating. He seeks solace in vicarious thrills such as pornography or visiting tawdry chat rooms.
But, in my experience, the people who are falling victim to internet-led addiction and depression are smart, savvy, career women like Anna - and the damaging effects of spending increasing hours online are far more insidious than you can imagine.
Anna initially consulted me about a relationship issue - she'd been finding it hard to get over the man she called the 'love of her life', who'd broken up with her a year earlier.
Many people slip into the murky realms of 'chasing' after a life - of sorts - by surfing the internet for longer and longer periods until it dominates their moods, behaviour and life
It soon became obvious to me that she was spending too much time on the internet. She confessed that the more time she spent on social networking sites, the stronger her desire grew to keep up with how everyone else was spending their time.
With complete honesty, she said it seemed a darned sight more interesting and fun than what she was up to.
The irony was that she wasn't contacting these people but, instead, compulsively following them. Anna said she hadn't wanted go out with friends because she feared she'd bore them by droning on about her break-up.
Unfortunately, by isolating herself, she compounded the root of the problem, further damaging her fragile self-confidence.
The further irony is that you can never trust the way people depict their social lives on such sites.
Yet someone vulnerable like Anna will fall for it hook, line, and sinker.
Stalking ex-boyfriends and former friends on social networking sites such as Facebook is becoming increasingly common
You might think it extraordinary that she wasn't actually contacting people she knew - choosing to simply watch their lives play out across the pages of a site.
But this fits in with the pattern of emotional detachment that many who spend too much time on the internet begin to feel: that they're no longer part of this vibrant community and are increasingly isolated from real life.
Anna was also embarrassed about spending hours on celebrity gossip sites - previously she'd never even have considered buying a celebrity magazine. However, she found herself getting engrossed in various stories about the rich and famous.
What was the upshot of all this time spent on her laptop? I'll tell you - she was feeling even worse than after the initial break-up, and with a growing loneliness that she said she'd never experienced previously.
She described it as like an ever-increasing 'black hole' inside of her. The more she tried to fill it - by seeing what was happening in other people's lives - the bigger it grew. Yet Anna hated it when she couldn't spend as much time as she wanted to on these sites.
Like Anna, another client of mine, Ellen, a 42-year-old divorced, stay-athome mother of two young children, experienced feelings of withdrawal - anxiousness, panic and rising anger - when she was prevented from looking at sites she spent a tremendous amount of time on. (This was usually three or four hours non-stop during the day once she got the household chores done, and then logging on again for a few more hours once her children were tucked up.)
When so many seemingly capable and sensible women are being sucked into a nightmare of prolonged internet surfing, it's hard not to conclude a serious problem is developing in our increasingly fractured society
For instance, when one of her children was home with a prolonged case of flu in late autumn, constantly interrupting her computer time, Ellen became short tempered with him. She felt dreadful about it later.
Although she originally consulted me about developing the confidence to go back to work, her unhealthy obsession with the internet became the focus of our conversations.
Again, Ellen would strike you as a well-presented and elegant divorcee who probably had to fight off potential suitors - but nothing could be further from the truth.
Although she was fascinated by dating websites, she surfed only the profiles of single men, plus those of other single women who she saw as her 'rivals' - and rivals she felt ill-equipped to compete with.
This doubly damaged her chances of getting out to meet someone and building her confidence to get back to work. She even started to shy away from occasional invitations from old friends to meet a suitable single man they had in mind for her.
Ellen confessed that she'd panic, thinking there was no way they'd like her after the 'amazing women' she'd seen on singles sites.
When so many seemingly capable and sensible women are being sucked into a nightmare of prolonged internet surfing, it's hard not to conclude a serious problem is developing in our increasingly fractured society.
Another case in point is Sarah, 31, whose overuse of the internet started with that very sense of detachment from her normal group of friends, after moving cities for a promotion in the television industry.
Arriving in London having been based in Wales, Sarah was initially excited by the prospect of a new job in a new city. However, long working hours meant she was so shattered when occasionally she had time off, that she rarely took advantage and went back to Wales.
If you end up out of touch with your friends, and too busy to make new ones, it's all too easy to hunch over your laptop for hours at a time.
She found herself trawling fashion and social networking sites. She'd peek at what her old friends were getting up to, and also what her new colleagues were doing in their spare time - and felt incredibly lonely.
Then Sarah would hit the fashion websites and spend much of her salary on clothing. Of course, the brief high she got when new outfits arrived in the post disappeared as soon as she thought about the fact that she had nowhere to wear them.
Obviously, the internet has transformed the way we communicate and has some tremendous benefits, but it will never be a substitute for real relationships or for seeking face-to-face solace in difficult times.
The common thread linking these women was a set of circumstances that damaged their self-esteem and confidence in their own unique way.
For anyone who finds themselves in similar shoes, there's much you can do - as these women all eventually did - to halt a soul-destroying search for 'a life' on the internet.
The first thing is to reconnect with someone you trust and let them know you're lonely. Then it's important to start spending time with people you like. It may mean reconnecting with old friends or developing new friendships.
Either way, it's about recognising how much you've isolated yourself and how your journey back to being part of a social group - even a small one - will be your salvation.
The big stumbling point for many women who end up in a solitary world of the internet is to have the courage to go back to the drawing board and 'reboot' their lives not only socially, but by setting limits on the stresses they place on themselves.
When your days are a little less punishing, you're less likely to seek stress relief in some supposedly 'harmless' internet surfing. Only then will you realise a real life is always more rewarding than a virtual one.
Names have been changed.

Ang pow
I guess alot of the givers would just wish I will get married so they can stop giving me the red packet heehhee. Maybe then they should start praying that I will find someone to get married to.
As years pass tho' I guess my chances gets slimmer and now closing down to the number ZERO chances...
Anyways.. here is the loot for the year 2010 :)

Ash Wednesday
Today marks Lent.
Abstinence from Meat..... today....
Now we were reminded, from dust we came and dust we will return... some day in the future. And a symbol of cross made from ashes placed on our foreheads.
The ashes are from the old palms burnt. Palms from Palm Sunday - the year before or many2 years before... donated by the congregation...
Time to sleep....
Dripping in Brand vs $$ in the wallet
She came in bearing a LV bag and took out her prada purse to give the lady some medical card. She was also dressed to the nines.
I went in to see the dr and waited for my medication. Then in she went.
While I was waiting for my medication, the nurse called her to the counter. I guess the nurse must have informed her how much it was blabalbaa. There was some conversation which I couldn't hear. AT one point when i could hear, i thought i heard she asked the nurse whether she could pay by card and flip out one. The nurses just laughed. I guess next she must have asked to borrow the phone. yeahhhhh.. thats rite.
Coz the next moment I know, i saw the nurse handling to her the phone receiver.
She yapped away in mandarin.
So... would rather be dripping in brands or would you rather have money in your wallet. :P

Kong Hee Huat Chai....
Well I only celebrate the traditions of CNY not really the other parts of it really. So since I don't quite like RED. I din wear red on 1st day of new year :) I was bz helping mom fry fry all the unhealthy stuff like sotong balls, fried chicken... fried sausages.. hahahaa. Just pakai baju rumah aje lah.
While all the happy happy mood around. I also want to share something unfortunate which happened. My cousin who's the same age as me, last year gave birth to a down syndrome child. He has a hole in his heart and alot of other health aliments. He got sick few days before chinese new year hence my cousin couldn't make it to our house this year. he was in the ICU. He went back to the Lord on the second day of CNY which was yesterday. But i think its for the better in a way rather them him suffering all his life.
I came down with Respiratory Track infection on the 1st day of CNY and went to see the dr yesterday. I don't think i am any better but the medication does help with the nasal congestion.
That's what been happening this CNY.

Another New Year almost Here.. and its not the Gwiloo one.. :)
Also Facebook is not a place for me to do anything no more. Just occasional updates of pictures blablabla, read friends' updates. But I even refrain from putting any sorta of status these days. Too many lurkers. people i don't know that WELL. My initial intention with FB was to have close friends only. But in a way, u feel bad, coz some of them you see them at work blablablabla. U know. If you have known me for some time now, you would know that I am skewed towards a more private type of person.
So with FB these days, its more of playing games only. Too dangerous no? Police lurking there, having FB accounts, having groups, monitoring everybody's move. Aiii.. There is no such thing as Freedom. Don't you just hate it.
As time progresses I think things are just getting worse. Humanity has reached a new level of greed, power craziness... that we i think have not seen before and can expect to be the future norm.
I wonder if I even made sense in my above paragraph. That is just to give you an idea how my mind is sometimes.
So CNY is coming. I haven't done any cleaning. I think first, I need to cleanse my life, my brain, my mind.. first muahahahaa...
Happy CNY... fattt fattt fattt.. and not FAT FAT FAT ok?
So don't eat too much.
p/s looked my face lately. i think I see the ageing process accelerating.... at a faster than normal page. I feel tired all the time.
Bahija!!! sorry ah.. I didn't see your comment until like 2 days ago. Exercise hasn't been goot.. it has been SHEEETTT.. hehehee.. Trying to build the energy for it. Will Send you personal email ya.

Finding Peace
I do want to find that peace.
Then I was scrolling thru my email....
Here's what I see
Dear Friend in the Lord,
Peace of Christ! Jesus wants us to bring His Peace to others. How much of this “Peace” do we have in our own hearts and homes? Do we find ourselves so “divided and distracted” by our daily concerns, that we have “suppressed” this “Peace of Christ”?

Health is really your wealth
Since I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, I am so thankful that I have a job and my company pays for my medical bills. I am into my 3rd dose of medication. Each time the DR can only give me 30 tablets. These are very mild dosage tablets. I have gotten a second opinion who agrees with that.
Yesterday, I went to get my dose of medication and was told that I would need to go for medical test - blood test, ecg, xray, every year!! I asked why. DR explained that its becoz with high BP, it can cause damage to your kidneys, may cause heart attack, etc. AIIII.... i have never been in this sort of state before. I have almost been quite healthy.
I need to make some changes to my life style.
I had try to reduce the BP without medication for 1 year and one bout of sharp pain and terrible migrane, rushed me to the DR and I then decided to start on the medication. I don't think its a bad move on my side but I would really really like to stop depending on medication and maybe go for a more natural way of reducing this.

A Rainy @ home
Little did I know that this new role suck big time. Granted that I no longer need to be on standby but the nite conference are just way MORE.
The weather is so nice. It has been raining the whole day. From the time I woke up , up to now when I am writing this. Its so nice. I love this sort of weather. It really reminds me of Autumn which is my favourite season of the year. Too bad its been too long now since I experience Autumn or Fall as we call it in the states.
I have an extra gadget from work which takes away all my work life balance. Will write about this next time.

Corrinne May - Everything in its time... I love it!
Corrinne May - Everything In its time
Sometimes i wonder what lies ahead
How long til my hunger is fed
They say it's hard to make it in this part of town
so many people on this merry-go-round
Some folks try astrology
Some turn to crystal balls
To find an answer
To get through it all
I just fall on my knees and i try to pray
in the silence i can hear Him say
The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time
I often feel like that i'm two steps behind
Somebody must have moved that finish line
There are a thousand reasons
why i should give up
But i'm stubborn in the things i believe
The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to the patience and watch for the sign
'cause maybe there's another plan
One i still cant see
A little surprise, like your love in your life
Funny how time changes how we see
The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to the patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time
Everything in its time

Sometimes....
Sometimes, I wish for paradise. Sometimes, I wish I have more in life. Sometimes, I feel I am very lucky to be where I am in life, when I see others having less than me. Sometimes, I wish I have found love to last me a life time. Sometimes, I wish my mom would live forever so that I when I grow old alone, I won't be lonely.
Sometimes, I wish and keep wishing.... I know my purpose here on earth...
Sometimes, I wish I can feel this happy like when I look at the picture below...

Tribute to Michael Jackson
For the last couple of days, the radio station has been playing alot of his songs.. since his passing was announced. I began to realized when these songs were playing. His songs has meaning. Its unlike many of the songs we hear today, its different. The lyrics sounds so meaningful. Its more about life and life's situation rather than love. Unlike they say in malay - lagu2 jiwang. hehe.
I understand now that this man is an incredible person. Eventho' his life hasn't been all that great esp with the all the news we heard and read.
But he is leaving behind a great legacy which I do not think many can emulate.
Like the saying goes, you leave your good name on earth and thats what he is doing. His good beautiful songs will over shadow all the scandals which has plaqued his life.
MJ - Rest in Peace, You will be missed by many..... thank You for all the beautiful years of good songs.

Putting One's Life on Hold
I put my life on hold for 5 years. The 5 years which I couldn't decide whether I will move to another country or not. Thinking back I think I was so foolish. If it was something i really wanted, I would have move in a heart beat but I didn't. I consistently weigh what I should do.
Now I realized, those precious moments are lost forever. Lost opportunities, lost potential partners... I cannot bring back those moments nor can I reclaim the lost times.
But I have now learn to live to my best. If i wanted something, and I know I am able to afford it after thinking whether I need it.. or once a while indulging myself with something expensive, I would. Maybe that's one other thing that has made me look happier. But those are temporary happiness as my priest would say. I have also been trying to save as much as I can. Also in away avoiding assholes that keep putting me down. Little by little... i think I am beginning to live in the moment.
Also I want to live now in the moment and not think about what will happen tomorrow. Who knows maybe I might drop dead tomorrow, or u know... future is so uncertain....
Yes, I do still think about having children, getting married. which I know may never materialize in my life time. But I still have hope.
But I have learnt to not live in the past nor... regret the 5 years which I placed my life on hold.
Not even sure if anyone understood what I just wrote hahaha

Good comments for the Day!
Throughout our conversation she kept asking what have I done differently. I actually am not sure.I guess I started exercising and probably caring less about work. Making a distinction between time at work and leisure.
I make it a point these days, not to switch on my laptop at home unless I absolutely have to. e.g when I have nite conferences or I have some really pressing things which I need to resolve.
I guess in a way, I can say it took some effort but I still have a long way to go.
Even in my appraisal, I did put a goal as in putting my health first and I guess that did help...
Another point to me.. :)

The Quest to a Healthier Life Style
The quest to reduce my high BP has become my goal in life. In a way, I still struggling to achieve this.
I used to be a sprinter in school. I ran the 100, 200, 4*100 relay. Since I was in Primary school. When I reached form 4-5, I had to stop as my mom said I needed to concentrate on my studies instead and that was the most trying time for in my school years.
After that I never touched running again except for that one 1/2 semester in my sophomore year where I have had to take the stupid cross country class... almost died running hahahaa. Kidding. It was WINTERRRRR what did you expect?
I have been going to the gym at my office since nov/dec 2008. I was going off and on way before that but lack of motivation really didn't help either. You could just imagine the frequency. But I was more regular when the dr told me I had to start exercising or risk getting all the diseases which came with high BP.
I started off really slow, Just walking for 30 min and then on the cross trainer for another 30 min. As of Last month, I had tried to add some running. But i noticed I couldn't go beyond 10 mins running straight at the speed of 60-70 depending on which threadmill I am using. Yeah some of them are like broken.. sorta. My goal is to at least raise it up above 10 min. So far no luck yet. But I want to. I do that I m able to endure this and perservere and increase it bit by bit.
Wish me Luck and loads of motivation

FaceBook Versus Blogging
When I first got on to facebook, I actually stopped blogging. Or rather I already stopped blogging for awhile. I frequently updated the status bit.... then when the number of friends started to increase esp those from work, I decided to be more reserved.
Of late, I got back into blogging coz found that its still a best way for me to express what I feel.
There was also an element that contributed to this all and its because someone commented on my status update lately. I don't know why some people just like to make them look like they are more superior than others and then make comments such like i know its your life but....
Whatever it was, I am not going to repeat it and I also did not reply to her email.
Anyways... i have decided that... since FB is so now open and I have people working with me as part of the friends list albeit under the limited profile list , its still much safer blogging like here anonymously.
continue to find out more about my life rather than FB.

Cravings....
Couple of months ago, I kept having cravings for asam laksa and tomyam. I wonder what was wrong with me. Since I live alone during weekdays sometimes, I don't feel like going out after reaching home. But with these cravings sometimes I just give in. hehehe
LAst weekend, I had cravings to eat char kuey teow. For the whole bloody week, I was thinking and thinking about it. When I reached home on sat, I asked my sister to go tah pow for me, this really nice char kuey teow @ melawis... one of the famous char kuey teow in Klang.... But after dinner... suddenly I felt my stomach so bloated and I think I was having my usual indigestion. Mind you, I don't eat alot but I have problem with my digestive system. Then I told her... scrap the idea of eating that nite for supper coz i didn't want to go to bed sufferring a indigestion.
And lo' and behold, my uncle bought 5 packets of that char kuey teow I was craving for today.... for tea!!! YUMMY to the max... deliciouso...
I wonder is the next craving.... in line... :D

Sometimes I just Feel....
Look around you. Be it politics or work politics.. or church politics ( yeah its there too believe me you!).
Sometimes I just want to leave all these behind.. be a recluse or hermit.. hide under my shell.. forget about the world outside.
Its too tiring to want to cope ... or even to ensure your head is above the water....
on another note, not doing too well on the exercise.. This week only went on monday. Also I have been having these headaches... i wonder if its becoz of my high BP. Maybe its time to just suck it in and say.. i will take the medication.
Anyways... babbling away when i don't even know if anyone is reading this besides me hahahahaha

High BP and Medical Report
I have been struggling since then, different drs telling me different things. Some wanted to put me on medication while some wanted me to exercise, monitor and see what's the cause.
I went to a panel to get second opinion, and I got the lady dr. The drs that are here - husband and wife. Lady dr said want to monitor me, come back for 3 months and then see how.
Went back the next month, got the guy dr. Guy dr more aggresive in measures. Wants me to go for full medical and see the results. If its not any other health problem, eg. kidney problem, etc. After medical results, go on medication for high BP.
After CNY ( i didn't want to do it before CNY, I wanted to makan sampai puas), I made appointment was told that they would give me the lady dr. Better for medical. Okie.. dokie.
Did the medical last week. They took my ECG - 4 TIMESSSSS i almost died. I tot something was wrong. But turn out the tracing wasn't nice and the nurse said probably i moved my head. EXCUESE me, my feet was freezing to death. And she was taking her own sweet time.
GOOD NEWS tho' my medical results is clear with the exception of.... negative for hep b vaccine. Weird coz i had it done like 5 year or more ago. And the dr said its normal that after 5 years, it might be gone. whatever ....
So today I had 2 jabs... one for hep b and one for hpv - cervical center prevention jab. Pain ahhhh.. each arm had a jab each. The one for the hpv hurts more and it has this sore feeling. 2 more jabs each to go....
also.. i need to consistently exercise. Maybe increase to 3 times. :D
This week only made it 1 time, used the apt's gym.
Been too stress.....
And the lady dr, doesn't think i need medication hehehee.. so pray for me hor. she also thought me to meditate. When she said that i said errr.. i am christian, i don't think i should be meditating. then she said... no meditate on the word of God. :D she asked me to read psalm 121. And even quoted the line... told me, God doesn't slumber or sleep, so you don't worry. Sleep well. Even if you hate your boss, you can't do much. Raise it up to the Lord. I didn't even say i hate my boss.. hahahahaa. she read my bloody mind.
Anyways.. its all good. I just need to be diligent in exercising and eating my celery. And also to learn to let go and firstly learn to forgive.
Also made a promise... from tomorrow... no more gossping at work about work peeps.. Need to stop. God please whack my head if is forget.
:D

It Came And Went.... in a Jiffy....
About a week ago, I was so excited to have a week off work, and had only needed to take 3 days off. Unfortunately, I don't know what I did with my time and now I am already in my 3rd day of my extra leave. I hardly went out. Most of the time its at home binging on food esp cookies. I only went out on Wed to meet up with some friends from secondary school. Most of them had up and left this good old country. And i think the conversation went along the line, when would my turn be. Of course, i am not able to reveal my secret which only very few people know as I don't want to hear the drones of "what a waste" , "... you should have". To me its bygone. There are days which I do think about it but its becoming more and more minimal. I believe its the age factor that has lead me to be more appreciative of things I have now. It may not be a lot but its sure much more than some other more unfortunate people out there.
Hmm.. recalling back, I would say that I have been watching my dwnload series of Ugly Betty Season 3. Which is so awesome. Yeah I was once like here, with braces and all.. probably still ike her in the fashion sense.
Also, I would say this year's ang pow loot is much less than last year but then again times are bad. At least people are still giving.
The only so called bizzare thing that happened was, my dad had food poisoning and was very stubborn not to see the dr. Even with the tummy problems, he whacked all the sambal sotong, curry, acar, etc which my mom made. On the second day, in the morning, I saw him taking some medication, and obviously I asked him, still having "lau sai" ( translation - diareahea). I was shocked to hear the words from his mouth. He said " Someone trying to poison me, better purge till i die" Hmm.. very uncalled for statement. But seeing he is under stress from his condition, I just said , its not a good thing to say during CNY.
Other than that, its been great just hibernating.. doing nothing.. and praying for a better week next week when I head back to work. I have loads to do at the office but as per my philosophy on work, I shall not switch on my laptop when at home.... :D Then again u know I have to bring down my Hypertension - High BP status which hasn't improve at all.

Auntie Hair Style
The same person who saw me when i went back to work on 5th of Jan, has been spreading about my new hair do to everyone, even as far as my colleagues in SG.
Sad thing is, so insincere was her comments, she told them my hair style was nice better than before.
But yesterday she said her hair dresser could have done a better job. So i asked her to elaborate. And she said that... my perm is like auntie and its such auntie hair style and with one look she knows its done by a woman and not a man. And could an auntie too that did my hair. I said yes its and auntie so.? I said after all its just body perm. How wrong can a body perm be.
I guess some people are just pure big bad mouths. Anyways.... it will grow out. I just have to live with this auntie hair style for awhile.

I made it - day 2 of 2009
I did the same which is 30 min on cross trainer and 20 min on the thread mill.
I always go for the cross trainer first as its always in demand. Also I have been going off slightly earlier when I go to the gym since i do come in early anyways.
What i felt today is that is that the thread mill seems to work better. As I walked on the pre-program workout, uphill , etc. I could feel my stomach kind of like being worked out. I din feel that on the cross trainer.
Hopefully I will be able to sustain.
Congrats MG for making day 2 :D hehehe

Losing Weight is hard to do
Tomorrow I am planning to go to the gym. Hopefully I make it. Its so easy just to say no and give in to laziness. :D
I feel really fat and bloated. But one thing tho' I just can't stop eating either.
Recently i read about the special K diet... I give it after CNY before I embark on it.
Wish me luck.

MAMA MIA

As per the above photo, I went to watch MAMA MIA yesterday and paid a good money for it too. As you would notice, we sat at the Grand Circle, which was pretty good seat. We managed to get the tickets after they actually decided to have additional show. If you look closely, you would see that (where the STAR logo is), its stated that the show was to run until 1st Jan 2009. Due to overwhelming response, a few additional shows were added.
We had a surprise that day, not only seated two rows below us more towards the middle of the hall, sat our PM - Pak Lah. Some people were so blur, they didn't even know that was that PM; my friends included. They sat very weirdly, all the men on one side and the ladies on the other. It was a pleasant surprise rite? further to day, I have to say they were only like 5 mins late, e.g 3:05pm which is by the standards of dignitires is already very very good. :D
After all the hoo haa of PM - Pak Lah- whispering.... came the actual annoucement welcoming PM and some other folks, not that i can remember their name :D
Read more here
But not sure why they wort last nite, when it wasn't really the nite show we watched, it was the matinee show.
And Surprise Surprise, this boom thru the sound system " Kindly Stand for the National Anthem". Not sure if they played it for all the shows or just this one coz the PM was there. But really tho' this is a real added bonus :D
How as the show? Errr It was a OK. Kinda slow on some scenes. The bests ones for me were the last performance and the ancore... where the full blown dance was performed and so lively and the music was excellent.
p/s this was the london production , hence in the beginning some of the actors' accent were so strong, I didn't get jack shit... hehehe.

Good Bye 2008, Welcome 2009 - Happy New Year 2009
I am not a fan of new year. I had saying good byes and welcoming uncertainties. :D
But change is the only thing that is constant and not like its my choice to stop time :)
So, there Happy New Year 2009.
I wish that this year will be better than 2008 and filled with peace joy hope and happiness for me and everyone else.
And in the face of adversity, we rise as one and defect the ailing earth, the ailing economy, ailing politics and what not.
I no longer make resolutions. I was asked couple of weeks ago before I knocked off for my long vacation what my new year resolutions are. I blatantly said out loud, i no longer make any and has been this way for a while now.
I only wish for one thing, Good Health and to go thru the new year with the Blessed Lord guiding me and showing me the way.
Oh i do have a secret wish, if you look at my shelfari - books reading, u get my hint..
So anyone gonna support me in achieving this secret wish?

He is the Reason for this Season
to the Christians he is our saviour and He is the Reason for the Reason.
But he came becoz we are the REASON.
I love this song and I would like to share with you during this Season.
We Are the Reason <--- click here
Hello Hello
I call you friends, becoz most of the peeps who read this blog are my real life friends :D
Sorry for the long hiatus. I just don't know whats wrong with me these days.
As we count down to the new years, I just wanted to say this. As I am happy to welcome the new year, for the new and hopefully better things to happen but part of me is wary about welcoming the new year.
As always, as the new year approaches, I will be one year older. Seems like year after year , the only constant change is getting a year older. Nothing major, nothing out of the world has happened to me.
In 4 months I will turn another year older, bringing me closer to another age group. how scary is that. Anyways, my brother who is 3 years older than me and has short sightedness is now plagued with near sightedness... My sister who is 3 years older than my older brother has been diagnosed with near sightedness just couple of months ago. So , am i the next victim
I hope not. Sigh....
With that note, I would like to wish you happy new year 2009 and may the new year bring you good health (most importante), and prosperity and happiness all year round.

Mysterious Ways....
As for me, I find it hard at times and takes me awhile before I could see the meaning in all that has happened.
Couple of Thurdays' ago, some weird thing happened. I wrote to a friend in the US after having not kept in touch for awhile. My email was simple, 3 liner. But her reply was long and some things are very warranted for. My email went just by saying, how are you, long time haven't heard from u. Things are the same here. Haven't found mr right.
She wrote a long email and I found her email abit tactless. One of the thing she said was, most women in MY after a certain age as deemed as no value. Her friends went thru that balblablaa. and its high time, i pack my bags and leave the country in search of someone. This can only change if i make the decision to move or else nothing would happen. MY men don't like older women... so blablabllaba...
U get the gist.
Anyways, I thought that email - well she wanted to be frank and all - could have been written in a more tactful way. Just becoz she is happily married to a gwiloo , she needn't make people feel like they have no value??
ANyways, the strange thing started... after that. ( could be co-incidence , if you are a non believer and may just deem it as that).
After I received her email on the next day, means friday , after reading her email, I feel abit disturbed (if you get what i mean?) Anyways, around 9+10+am, I received an email from this girl Eve, ringgit introduced us some time ago. She asked me if i remembered her, I said yes I do. Then she went on to say that, she won these two tickets for a lunch at this certain place in PJ. The radio talk show was about relationship.. and the listeners were suppose to write in and tell about their most memorable memories etc... she wrote in and she won two seats for lunch. Well of course the lunch isn't just a simple lunch.. u sorta like meet ppl? She gets to bring a guest... no bf/gf allowed - get my drift? since its a sat and all, i said alright i would go. So... u see..did God arrange all this?
Then on Sunday nite, I was watching TV and i happened to chanced upon this show called She Got the looks. I wonder what this all about. Then realized that its a show where they pick women above 35 to be models... Some who made it out of the gazzillion ppl who auditioned, were above age of 50 , the oldest was 63.
Is God trying to tell me something?
I believe so....
God works in mysterious ways!

I am Back
Unfortunately, this entry doesn't bring much good news either except for one good news :) I will leave that to the last in this post.
As you know, I have been struggling for along time now in my work environment. For those who knows me this have been happening since my other company. Somehow, I have this ability to attract all the wrong manager/supervisor , etc.
For these 4 years, I would say I have achieved more than I ever had in my previous company. I am doing well but unfortunately, eventho my boss recognizes it but those above locally don't. In this place where i work, ethnicity plays the ultimate part. Its disappointing. boss wants to move me up but my so called local manager doesn't want. He rather move someone from outside the team into the my team when my TL moves out. Today I had a heart to heart talk with my boss initiated by me, thats how i found out all these things. This is also the first time I poured out my true feelings, my thoughts after 4 years reporting to boss. I knew of this plan since May. since then it had been silence. Today it was revealed that she found out 3 weeks ago, that my so called local manager plans to execute this. Boss told me he/she had wanted to tell me so that i won't be disappointed if this doesn't materialize. I told boss I already had the feeling that my local manager would do this when boss first told me. Boss just smiled. Anyways, boss said boss would move me out if this moving up doesn't happen.
In a way, I am sad but in another perspective, it might turn out to be good, IF and WHEN i get to move. I hope all these don't just end up as words and merely words.
I am trying to digest this and hope that something good will come out of this. And some impartial and fair person will see and finally give me whats deserving of my hard work.
As per this Sunday's reading at church, we know not of what God's plan are for us... We are not at that level who can understand why God does this and that.
And i want to have faith that God knows that I am hurting now and that He knows that I have done my best but my best isn't good enough to these ppl who only see color above everything else.
Lastly I will be going on vacation this Thursday.... One good vacation i hope will at least heal this brokenness.

The Silence
Lately, these things keep cropping up in my mind. I am already 3X , can be considered old. And... when I ponder back, I wonder what have I achieved? Seems like nothing.
Further to that, I can't seem to find my Mr. right either. Lack of friends and company is making the situation worse. It just seems to bleak. For years, ppl have been telling me, it will come. But will really come. I think probably I should stop hoping.
Maybe its time to do some disappearing soon.
I have also been trying to be prudent in my spending. I think I have sort of thought of a way to help with my spending. One thought is when I feel like splurging say on something I will not do it instead I would actually put that money in the bank. E.g if I saw a pair of shoes which I like, say it cost about RM80. Think whether I need it, if not bank that RM80 into my account. Sounds like a plan but now the question is, can I execute that flawlessly?
